In the UK right now we are getting a little bit of wedding fever! HRH Prince Harry is marrying Megan Markle in a lavish ceremony tomorrow in Windsor and the country is excited! Whether you are a royalist or not the buzz of the wedding is addictive for all so this weeks blog post is dedicated to Harry & Megan’s wedding.
The service will be at St George’s Chapel at midday and will be conducted by the Dean of Windsor, The Rt Revd David Connor. How beautiful is this chapel? I’m not religious and never envisaged myself getting married in a church/chapel but oh my, this is like something out of a fairytale!
At 1 pm the couple will travel around Windsor for members of the public to join in with the celebrations.
The couple is using floral designer Phillippa Craddock to create beautiful floral displays for the St George’s Chapel ceremony and the St George’s Hall reception. She has confirmed that Silver birch and English Oak will feature in the displays as a base and flowers of white garden roses, peonies and foxgloves will appear. One of the important aspects to the couple was that the foliage and flowers were sourced locally and that the design reflects the landscapes around Windsor Castle.
Flowers were the hardest thing for me to pick out, I don’t exactly have a green thumb. I knew my Nan loved roses and my Gran loved Orchids, they are both in my bouquet, from that I have given my florist creative freedom to produce something spectacular!
The most important aspect of any day for me is food so this is what I was most interested in learning about. The couple has chosen to stray from the traditional sit-down wedding breakfast to have canapés and bowl food instead which the 600 guests can eat whilst standing. This is so different and I love it, although I’m having a traditional sit-down meal I can see the benefit of the ‘get up and eat’ style when you have 600 guests!
The Wedding Party
The gorgeous wedding party, I love how they have chosen to just have children, although challenging I can see this as a simpler option (no fighting on the style of dress/shoes/anything!)
Obviously, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s children are part of the day, Prince George and Charlotte I’m sure will be as adorable as ever! There are also various godchildren on each side which I think is such a nice touch.
I love seeing about potential wedding dress idea’s for Megan and although now the designer has been released I’m sure she will go for something classic but modern. Kate Middleton’s dress obviously blew crowds away and created the picture perfect princess image, I feel like Megan will go for something a little more fitted and elegant.
Perhaps a duchess deserves double the dresses ✌🏼 Second dress prediction by #hayleypaige comes with illusion sleeves, high neck, embroidered appliqués, dimensional dégradé, manta-ray skirt with horsehair edging … basically #allthethings … and Prince Harry got an outfit change as well 💅🏻 swipe to see original and grab link in bio for details on our #royalwedding panel coverage this Saturday with @tlc #meghanandharry
